SDF SUB GRANTS PROPOSAL APPLICATIONS PRELIMINARY RESULTS

Technical evaluation of SDF sub-grants proposal applications begins

Background
We take the opportunity to express our appreciation to everyone that responded to our call for proposals for the skills development fund.  We were overwhelmed by the turn-up the applications received and we do hope that we shall be able to get quality proposals that will be qualified for SDF funding.  Congratulations to those that have made it on this list despite the fact that they still have to undergo other evaluations.

Let me take the opportunity to give you a quick reminder of our process: After the reception of the proposals, the secretariat does initial screening to ensure that all applicants respected the procedures and attached all the necessary documents required for us to be able to ascertain the legal status, the reliability, compliance with tax regulations and the financial discipline of the applying institution.  Those who meet the basic criteria are then subjected to technical evaluation and due diligence before the sub-grants committee can make a final decision on each of the applications.

Coverage:
The SDF was very happy for the response because we received applicants from all the provinces of Rwanda.  We received applications from the South, North, East & West and others from the City of Kigali.  We were also happy to note that the proposals covered almost all our priority areas.

Pre-selection
Based on the results of the screening exercise done by the SDF Secretariat, a total of 69 applications were shortlisted and qualified to move to the next level of technical evaluation.

The following is the list of those that were pre-selected according to their sectors:

Note that those with ** have a missing document that they have to submit before their applications can be considered for technical evaluation.  They, therefore, have up to Friday 17th to have brought the missing document(s).

N.B: Those that were not shortlisted missed important documents and are advised to pass by the Secretariat on Floor 8’ Kigali City Tower to get information as to how they can increase their chances of success in the next round of submissions.   Let me take the opportunity to inform you that the next call for proposals will be published in a couple of months.  I therefore urge you to use this time to start thinking through your proposals early enough to avoid the last minute rush that many experienced last time.

Once again we thank everyone that participated and we wish you the best in your endeavors as we build for the future of our country.
